About

FPoleV all started back in 2014 when Steven Donovan packed up his life and headed out to work in Yellowstone National Park. Inspired by those cinematic boom shots but needing something way more nimble, Steven started tinkering. This was before 360 cameras were even a thing, so he’d strap a gimbal and a little action cam on a pole and basically go full DIY to get those run-and-gun shots in the park, where drones were totally off-limits.


Fast forward to 2017: 360 cameras hit the scene, and it was like a light bulb going off. Steven realized he could mount a 360 camera on a longer, more streamlined pole and get these insane, drone-like shots without ever launching a drone. The only problem? There was nothing like that on the market. So he got to work, building his own out of painter’s poles and prototypes until he had something that actually worked. He made a few extras for other creators who were interested, and before he knew it, FPoleV was born.


Now it’s grown into the go-to tool for creators who want the freedom to get epic shots on the fly, no drones, no fuss, just pure creativity. Welcome to the #FPoleV family!
